BBQ Grills

Custom BBQ Grills: Folding, Stationary and Stainless

Custom-built charcoal grills from our own shop in Kyiv: folding, stationary, with a lid or canopy, in mild or stainless steel. Your dimensions, engraving, powder coating.

shape shape shape

We build charcoal grills in our own shop: folding units for trips, stationary ones for a yard or gazebo, models with a lid, stainless versions, and sets with skewers and grates. Both standard models and grills to your own dimensions — sized to a niche in the gazebo, to the number of skewers, to the height of whoever cooks. Everything happens in house: cutting, folding, welding, coating.

Folding grills

The most popular format: the grill folds into a flat case and travels in the boot. We build folding grills from 2–3 mm metal — the compromise between weight and service life, since thinner distorts after a few seasons and thicker is awkward to carry. Legs are removable or hinged, and everything stores inside the body when folded.

One detail cheap shop models skip: reinforced corners and proper hinges. That is where folding grills fail first — the metal at the fold works in fatigue every time the unit is packed away.

Stationary grills

For a yard or gazebo we build stationary grills from 4–5 mm steel: they do not distort under heat, hold temperature longer and last for years. Such a grill can stand on legs, be built into masonry, or become part of an assembly with a work top, a log shelf and hooks for tools.

On request we add wheels, an ash pan for quick cleaning, a side table and a skewer rest. If the grill will live inside a gazebo, we design in an extraction hood or a flue spigot from the start — retrofitting that is difficult.

Grills with a lid or canopy

A lid turns a grill into more than a fire tray: under it you can smoke, roast and hold temperature out of the wind. We build hinged lids with a heat-resistant handle, with or without a vent slot for draught control.

A canopy solves a different problem — it protects the cook and the grill from rain. Stationary grills with a canopy are built on four posts with a corrugated or sheet roof, and the structure can be combined with a canopy over the whole seating area.

Stainless steel grills

Stainless needs no paint, does not rust in rain or dew and still looks cared for after several seasons. It is the best choice for a grill that stays outdoors all year and for anyone who cares about appearance as well as function.

We weld stainless with TIG using dedicated tooling — which matters: welding stainless with the same tools used on mild steel drives iron particles into the seam, and rust spots appear around it over time.

Sizing

Grill dimensions come from the skewer and the number of guests, not from guesswork:

  • width 30–35 cm so the skewer rests on the walls with margin;
  • skewer spacing 8–10 cm: six skewers need 55–60 cm of length, ten need 90–100 cm;
  • depth from coals to skewer 15–20 cm — less means charring, more wastes charcoal;
  • leg height 70–80 cm so you are not bending over the heat.

If you are unsure, just tell us how many people you usually cook for and we will size it. The full calculation is in our article on building a grill yourself.

Thickness decides everything

Thickness is the one parameter that determines how long a grill lasts. At 1.5–2 mm it is cheap and light, but after a few big fires the floor bows and the walls spread. 3 mm holds its shape for years and stays portable. 4–5 mm is for stationary units that stay where they are put.

We do not build grills thinner than 2 mm even on request — they fail faster than they justify their price.

What comes with it

Alongside the grill we can make stainless skewers, a grate for fish and vegetables, a poker, a scoop, a skewer rest, an ash pan and a carrying case. A set usually costs less than buying accessories separately, and the grate is guaranteed to fit — which is not the case when parts are bought piecemeal.

Grills as gifts

A grill makes a good present and is easy to personalise: laser engraving puts a name, a date, a company logo or a pattern on the side wall. Engraving does not burn off or wear away, unlike stickers and painted lettering. For corporate orders we produce batches with matching branding and packaging.

Finishes

Outer surfaces are finished with heat-resistant paint rated for grill temperatures. Stands, side tables, canopies and trolleys get powder coating in any RAL colour — tougher and longer-lasting, though never on the firebox, since the polymer is made for domestic temperatures. Stainless grills are not painted at all.

Price and lead time

Cost depends on size, thickness, material and the set: a folding grill in 2 mm steel and a stationary one in 3 mm stainless are different orders of price. The honest way to find out is to send dimensions or simply describe what you need — we come back with a quote within one business day.

Standard models are usually ready within a few working days; assemblies with a canopy and table take longer. We deliver in Kyiv and ship across Ukraine through carriers. Other products from our shop are in the ready-made section.

Mild steel is cheaper and works well under heat-resistant paint. Stainless costs more but never rusts, needs no coating and stays presentable for years — the choice for a grill kept outdoors all year.

3 mm for portable and folding grills, 4–5 mm for stationary ones. We do not build below 2 mm: that distorts after a few big fires.

Yes, that is the main way we work. Give us length, width and height, or simply say how many skewers it should take and where it has to fit — we will size it.

Yes. A hinged lid lets you smoke and roast, while a canopy on posts keeps rain off the grill and the cook. Both can be combined in one build.

The grill itself by default. We also make stainless skewers, grates, pokers, scoops, ash pans and carrying cases; ordered together they cost less and the grate is guaranteed to fit.
